Should P.E Be Required In Highscool?

Arguments Agaisnt P.E In High school

Requiring physical education in high school has been one of the biggest debates that is still unresolved in some area's like Colorado. The Aurora school board decided "to eliminate health and physical education from its graduation requirements". They voted this way because they wanted to increase math, science and language requirements. Others argued that "removing P.E may not be the answer in an age when obesity is rising and health issues related to obesity are on the rise". Also P.E gives students to "improve overall health and [build] life skills". Also, sitting in school for 7 hours might be exhausting, therefore "its important to increase blood flow to the brain" by being active.Yes some people might say, but i play sports, but for those who don't, P.E should be required.

  1. i think P.E should be a requirment. kids need to get up and be active, and P.E class might be the only way that will ever happen for some kids. for kids who have heart problems, or other health related problems that would put them in harm if they did have a P.E class, they could have a legit excuse not to have a P.E

  2. I agree, P.E. is very important for kids to release energy and give them a little exercise. Most of all it teaches them how to work out, later on in life when bellies get bigger I think that people will be happy that they were required so they aren’t clueless when they get to the gym!

  3. P.E needs to be a requirement because exercise is something you should be doing now and the rest of your life to stay in shape and healthy.
